Ive been doing a lot of cleanup and assessing what needs replaced/repaired.  Got the brakes freed up and working.  Moved onto the parking brake links and found the pull back spring is busted.

Filling Station has these listed, but not in stock so I'm on their wait list.

Anyone have an idea on where I could find this (or a similar generic thatll work?

One temporary solution is to get a screen door return spring at the local hardware store, modify it to fit, and drive it like that. Meanwhile, you could order the correct spring, wait for it to come in, and replace the interim spring when the new one arrives.

At least this would help you get back on the road.

@slw2206-2 Match the coiled section (local hardware store) then use mechanics wire or even coat hanger wire to fabricate the length needed.

Amazing story and glad the car will still stay in your family! Curious as the photos you posted remind me of my dad's 1926 Superior K, curious what differences there are between these two models. Also surprised to hear the car is turn key and running! Are you planning on doing a restoration on the car or just making sure it can go and stop as you mentioned? 

@j-tec-2 Welcome to the VCCA forum! I'm no expert on the Superior series but I believe the '26 would be the V series. The information I'm finding says that K would have been the 1925 model year. If I'm wrong someone will point it out. Welcome again. Hope to see you out on tour.

Edit: Looking at your other posts it seems the 1926 in this one is a typo. I can fix that for you if you like and are unable to fix it yourself (I don't know if the Edit function is available to new users). Just let me know, we're here to help.

By "turn key", yes I turned they key and it fired but the carb needs rebuilt and the brakes didnt work so its not like I drove it anywhere 😀

I'll have those issues corrected soon though and hopefully driving through the field.

I'll start with a mechanical restoration, but if I enjoy driving it it'll get a more thorough resto.

Finally got a rear hub off.  Only took a puller, Kroil, a torch, 3lb hammer, and an air hammer...

Tons of dirt laying inside as these have never been off the car.  There are a couple stripped lugs on the rear so going to clean things up and replace those.

For those who may be familiar with the front hubs on a 29.

I took the front hubs off today and it looked like there were remains of a gasket between the wheel hub assemble and drum.  The other hub had no gaskets.

Question is, should there be gaskets in these hub assemblies and is it just one per side?  Putting in an order to Filling Station soon so might as well get the right gaskets in my cart.
