@john-schildberg John, unfortunately we are not going. That is a nice 38 you got. We are having a show Nov 15th at a local Chevy dealer here in Montebello. So far we have 25 chevy convertibles coming.

The '37s I see up here are usually not original.

I've always liked the '37 grille.

Maybe kind of a Packard like thing going on?

i would say about 1/3rd are original. the rest have been modified with newer stovebolts, paint, lowering, etc.

My wife did a sabbatical at UCLA Los Angeles back in 2000.

We lived with her sister in Thousand Oaks for a couple months during the "winter".

I really enjoyed seeing the old original cars that were still around with no rust.

Not something commonly seen up here.

Interesting thing about 1937...

Up here, farmers were still in the deepest part of the depression, and it was the driest year of a very long drought with really only enough crop to save for seed for the next year plus a little.

And yet, my grandfather bought his first farm truck.

A Chevrolet.

I never asked Dad about the rationale for that.

Maybe vehicle prices had about bottomed out and looked too attractive to miss?

@ole-olson i believe they were bodied in Michigan then exported. This one is a fisher body, a lil hard to find the full history on it.
