Welcome Thomas. Assuming it's the same as my old 38, I used a universal puller and substituted "J" bolts for the threaded bolts. I put the short leg of the "J" on the engine side of the pulley in three spots around the circumference. Be sure you're pushing against the crank instead of the hand crank...

Hi All, I have a 1929 truck. The body has been chopped into a tractor, but still has original engine, transmission, etc. Engine was seized when I bought it and after several months and many attempts to free it without removing the block, I bit the bullet and pulled the engine. I currently have it ...

Not sure what you're referring to. My 38 was a Business Coupe. Pictures? FWIW all of the trunk wood in mine was painted flat black.

‘38 MD Sport Sedan (4dr) Anybody know if the wooden tool cover was originally painted or natural wood? Mine seems to have been “remade” at some point. Pictures would be great.

In the photo of the engine, there seems to be a hood in the background...maybe the correct hood for the car?

He had gone to the Dealer and was sitting on the running board when he called me !! LOL He did in fact verify the number on ...

From Ken Kaufman's info it looks like it could be March of 1929.

I believe it's stamped on the raised boss behind the fuel pump shown at the 48 second mark in this video. If I'm wrong please correct me.

Wow !! Yes , part of the block casting code is B 28 9....which I found out is February 28, 1929. So it is making sense. Thanks.

They made approximately 1,350,000 1929 Chevies so the number they're giving you would be early on in the year.

Agreed. I might have to ask them to send me a picture of that. Does anyone know if # 364982 sounds like a legitimate number for a 1929 ? I can't find any info. Been looking. The people I am dealing with are nice, but they need more guidance to find things. I have told them where to find engine numbe...

The VIN should be the engine number in Kansas. It should be hand stamped on a machined pad on the passenger side of the engine by the distributor/fuel pump.

I got pictures of the title . The VIN # they use is 364982. The picture of the raised markings/numbers on the block are : B 835501 . Under that is B 28 9 . Under that is the Chevrolet Bowtie and 12. The dealership is selling it for a friend . The current owner has had it for 3 years. Thanks.
