Greetings from Washington State, I'm restoring my grandpa's 50 and the interior is shot from too many PacNW winters. I have a new headliner and also bought a windlace kit (that goes below the headliner and on the B Pillar). The shop I took it to started installing the windlace and I saw it last week and it is wrinkled where it curves around the doors. He says it's just the way it the product is and he can't fix it. Doesn't look great, I don't remember any wrinkling like that. I bought the windlace several years ago from Chevs of the 40s. Has anyone else run into this issue? Maybe there's another supplier that has a better product? Thanks! Joe
You could try Ciadella Interiors in Arizona. They do make interiors for 49-54 cars, although not shown so much on their website.
It may be worth a call to Chevs of the 40s to see if you have any recourse on the poor fitting windlace. At the very least, they should tell you who they bought it from (so you’ll know to avoid).
It could be that another shop that is familiar with older interior installations would have a solution. I had the same issue with the rear window seal on my 32. It was just a matter of stretching the rubber seal to eliminate the wrinkle.

Thanks Steve and thanks Dane! I'm going to talk to my upholsterer this afternoon and ask him about trying to stretch the wrinkles out and I'll also keep Ciadella in mind.
