Found a 4 door sitting in a local junkyard that I will have to look over more closely the next time I am there,engine,trans and most front sheetmetal have been removed from the car but there is a short tailshaft TH 400 sitting in front of this car that is definately a Chevy trans so that got me wondering if it could be a police package or some kind of fleet option. Its just a plain 4 door and nothing special on the outside but curious on how I can figure out just how this car was ordered,this car has been sitting there over 40 years as its sitting near cars with late 70s tags.
The 396/402 could be ordered with any trim level or body. If so, then it would have come with the TH400.
Anything on the car telling what engine it came with.
