Can anyone offer some advice on how to restore the red paint on the side trim on 1941 master deluxe? thanks in advance,
Years ago when I painted my 41, if I remember right I used a red enamel paint like rustoleum. Just used a small model brush.
@dennis-christianson yes. That’s kind of what I was thinking. But was also thinking of using pinch stripe
The only thing I can offer is that when the original red paint wears off, the trim looks as exactly as if there was never anything there in the first place.
...with both chrome and stainless steel.
...which i would take to mean that Chevrolet never did any prep work before they just brushed on a stripe of red.

I used a squirrel hair striping brush and One Shot enamel (bright red I believe) on my 41 convertible. Unlike a coloring book, any paint outside the lines wiped off easily with a thickly folded paper towel damped with lacquer thinner. That was probably 12 years ago or so and it still looks fine.
If you need a small amount of lacquer paint in a wide variety of colors with a brush in the bottle, Check out the fingernail polish shelf of your local variety store. The short coming is that it's not UV protected and will fade in a few years if parked outside. 3M no longer makes striping tape.
