As I'm getting deeper into my current restoration, I find myself making more frequent trips to pick up parts or hitting up local swap meets. Up until now, I've just been throwing things in the back of my daily driver pickup.

However, after a recent scare with some unexpected rain on the highway while hauling a freshly upholstered bench seat and some re-chromed bumpers, I'm rethinking my strategy. I also hate leaving valuable NOS parts sitting in an open truck bed when I have to stop overnight at a hotel.

I really don't want to drag my full-size car hauler around just to pick up a few fenders or a spare engine block. I started looking into buying a dedicated "parts runner"—essentially a rolling, lockable trunk.

I am strongly considering a small 4x8 enclosed setup. I’ve been reviewing the dimensions on this <a class="ng-star-inserted" href=" removed link " target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-hveid="0" data-ved="0CAAQ_4QMahgKEwiDlM-k3sCVAxUAAAAAHQAAAAAQjgQ">Make My Trailer 4x8 enclosed cargo trailer to map out if it has enough floor space for a Chevy small block on a stand plus some larger body panels.

Do any of you use a micro-trailer like this for your swap meet runs? I figure it would save a ton on gas compared to the big trailer, but I wanted to see if anyone has real-world experience towing one lightly loaded before I pull the trigger.
