I got pictures of the title . The VIN # they use is 364982. The picture of the raised markings/numbers on the block are : B 835501 . Under that is B 28 9 . Under that is the Chevrolet Bowtie and 12. The dealership is selling it for a friend . The current owner has had it for 3 years. Thanks.
The VIN should be the engine number in Kansas. It should be hand stamped on a machined pad on the passenger side of the engine by the distributor/fuel pump.

There are many good people. If you can't find one, be one.

Agreed. I might have to ask them to send me a picture of that. Does anyone know if # 364982 sounds like a legitimate number for a 1929 ? I can't find any info. Been looking. The people I am dealing with are nice, but they need more guidance to find things. I have told them where to find engine number 4 times and explained where and what it should look like. It's been a struggle.
Thanks !!
They made approximately 1,350,000 1929 Chevies so the number they're giving you would be early on in the year.
Wow !! Yes , part of the block casting code is B 28 9....which I found out is February 28, 1929. So it is making sense. Thanks.
