@james-f-vislosky James, you have a challenging task. If you care to take it apart, the part number of the armature is usually stamped into its "stacked plate" area. If it has 3 brushes, that would narrow it down some. Is there a fan on the pulley?

Many universal type generators were supplied with two ears for the tightening strap/brace. This allowed them to be used on either side of the engine. Also keep in mind that Delco electrical components were sold to many other manufacturers. My old Farmall  and Massey Ferguson tractors have Delco starters, generators, and distributors (when applicable). Even early 1930s Chrysler products used Delco electrical, before settling in on Autolite.

The above information should have either encouraged you or completely bewildered you. Let us know which one.

The 1929-41 Master Parts book has a list of older generators from Chev cars that would be accepted as exchange for credit against a new generator.

There are several 936's listed including a 936N, 936P, 936R, etc.

Is it possible that in U9360 N9 the U stands for United Motors and the rest denotes a 960 (Whoops! 936) generator with possibly a manufacturing date?

Well, looks like I have a mystery to solve.  Sounds like the best way to tell is to take it apart.  There is no fan on the pulley.  I have not measured the pulley to see if it is the same as what is on my car now.  Thank you for the information.  I really do appreciate it.
