Some suppliers sell a plastic hose . I found a VW product that is 2"x40" aluminum with black covering works very well. It is flexible and bends well and can handle heat up to 450 deg. I used it for my 51 from the heater box to the defroster outlet. I did find it necessary to remove the dash support rod to make it easier to form the bend.
