How do you remove the dome light cover on a 36 Master? I thought it was just kind of a squeeze, but that doesn't seem to work. Maybe it's old and not flexible?

I've not done a '36 but nearly all I've ever done are a spring/friction fit. I'm attaching a couple of images of my old 38 that show the lens and base. The ring of the lens rim slides over the rounded "spring" retainers on the base. Yours is likely similar. If the '36 is radically different someone will educate us both.

The 1936 dome light is exactly the same, attached is a 1936 GMC T-14
Tiny, you are correct. Got it off, but discovered no power to the light fixture. Guess I'll just have to leave it in non-working condition as there is no way to run a new wire to it as it is all behind the interior. Oh well.

If your existing wire is intact you might be able to attach a new wire to the end and pull the new wire through as you remove the old wire.

@tiny You are correct but on my 35 Chevy the wire was stapled to the wood making it impossibel to pull it.
@tiny My wire goes through a switch on the B pillar and it is attached to the wood so I can't see or get to anything.
