David,  As an alternative to the Grain-It process, take a look at this video.  While I’m not familiar with the details of the 39 dash, on line images show it having a straight grain.  If so, the technique used in the video may get you close with big box store supplies at a low cost.   A practice panel can be made from any scrap sheet metal.  Mike

I have seen this video. It is a cost effective solution. I am looking for something a little more realistic to the original pattern.

Yes, have seen these and was able to purchase a page, the formulas from this info is obsolete with respect to today’s chemicals.   Truly need to scan the paint chip I have but the paint chip size is small for today’s machines.
