It was suggested that I download and read....what a resource!!!! It answered many, many questions.....and brought up many more! Many thanks to Ray and that group of jokesters that contributed to it!

Yes Lou it is an excellent resource.  I've read through it almost twice now prior to putting my engine together and now while I have been.

I too read Ray's masterpiece a couple of times before I rebuilt Lurch's engine and referred to it during the rebuild. I would not have attempted that journey if that document did not exist.

My hardcopy is full of greasy finger prints! 😉

@carey-sanders Click the button at the top of the page VCCAChat, scroll to Technical-General then Tech Talk. It's the top thread.

If you are a member of the club, you can get the full info out of the "School is in Session" discussion in a downloadable PDF. It is located in the following, club member only resources area of the main web page (vcca.org).

  1. Go to the Resources pulldown menu,
  2. Click on FORMS - Downloadable,
  3. Then click on Technical-Vehicle-Resources,
  4. Then click on  1912-1928.

Look down the list of documents and Ray Holland's document is labeled 1928_Engine_Rebuild_Class. You can read it online or download it.

I printed it out to use during my engine rebuild and it was invaluable! I put post-its on important pages, which helped a lot!

Cheers, Dean
