VCCA members are asking how do we find each other among over 4,000 cars at this parade. A meeting place has been established for the day before, Friday, May 29th at the Heart of Route 66 Auto Museum in Sapulpa, Oklahoma at 3:00 pm
Cathy and I are planning to be there. Not with a Chevrolet but a 66 Pontiac GTO clone. It is the only 66 vehicle I own but had to be the one I took on a record setting 66 parade.

@chip I had not connected the 1966 dots, i also will be in a 1966, but a CHEVROLET.
My 1966 has a Chevrolet engine and transmission if that helps.

Hi Chip
A '66 Pontiac GTO clone with a Chevrolet engine and transmission...
That wouldn't be a Canadian Pontiac Beaumont would it? 🙂

Actually it is a 1966 Tempest Custom convertible with body modifications to clone as a GTO. The original engine was not available and the frame mounts for a Chevrolet engine and transmission were made when I acquired the car. Therefore it has a LS2 with 4L70 transmission. It looks like a stock GTO until the hood is opened. Come to Tulsa and see it among the 4000+ that are expected for the parade. Should be an event to tell the great grand children about.

Aaah...
Interesting.
Makes sense, as the Beaumont was really more a modified Chevelle than anything else.
Really nice cars though and not particularly common.
As you know, Canadian Pontiacs were really mostly Chevrolets with Pontiac sheet metal.
May 30th definitely won't work for me.
Spring has been late and mostly cold and a bit wet up here so our crop isn't even in the ground yet.
Looks like the timing of my entire year is up in the air now.
