I have come a crossed an old Chevrolet that I can't figure out what it really is.  It belonged to an old VCCA member who died a couple of years ago. Now his granddaughter has it. It's under a bunch of junk but it has the original side curtains and trunk on the back end. It is missing the hood, but it has so much crap around it I can't see the radiator or lights.

Cool! The engine is definitely from 1928 because the crankcase pressure relief tube that goes to the carb is shown in the photo.
If you can see one of the front wheels, check if it has front brakes (or not). If it has front brakes, then the car is from 1928.
Good find! Dean

I agree.
And of course the configuration of the windshield suggests it's a roadster.

I guess you are right Dean.  I was told that it was a 1931 roadster
by the late owner. I tried to buy it several years ago, but He wouldn't sell it then.

In the photo of the engine, there seems to be a hood in the background...maybe the correct hood for the car?

@nicholas-gurin I'm not sure I didn't see a hood.  the owner's granddaughter hasn't been back since I saw the car.
