What are the heater hose supposed to have printed on them?  I was deducted for it at the anniversary meet.

I would think that would be a question for the head judge. It they're going to ding you on it, they should tell you how to fix it.

@tiny @john-schildberg Radiator hoses had the GM logo printed in intervals oof 4-5 inches. I was not aware that heater hose ever had anything printed.

That's what I thought Tiny.  Mike, I had the right radiator hoses, but I cannot find any heater hoses that have the GM logo on them.  I have sent a message to the head judge, Tim Larson, but he hasn't answered my questions about what I was dinged for.  I would like to know so I can fix them, but I can't read the judges writing.

Corvette Central and Zip have heater hoses with GM print as the hoses on c1 thru c3 utilized such ink stampings. as I recall, hoses are available in 5/8 and 3/4 inch styles. mike mccagh

Mid 60’s Corvette's (63/64 anyway) 5/8” heater hose had a GM logo printed in a square box on them. It’s a NCRS judging item.  The hoses on my 48 station wagon are black with Gates brand printing on them.  I don’t believe there were any red heater hoses from the factory but could be wrong.

@john-schildberg If/when Tim gets back to you, you might reference this thread from the old forum if the judge says the hose needs lettering on it.

@michael-falise When I was in the auto parts business from 1981 through 1986, I learned that red heater hose was sold as a higher quality hose than the black hose. I used plain black hose on my 1936 truck when I installed the heater in it.

WARNING!! Don't assume that judges know more about your vehicle than you do.

I never knew that about red hoses.  It would be nice to know if they were ever used during vehicle assembly.

@michael-falise I don't think red hoses ever came as factory equipment.
