Paint stripping and rust repair are tedious but satisfying. I stripped all the metal parts I removed from the car to bare metal. Treated with Barrier Bond rust converter and primed with KEP 2 part primer as recommended by TCP global. I am very happy with the results. It’s getting too cold here in Maine to continue painting. I was lucky to have 2 days of 74+ temps to get as far as I did. Here are some progress pictures.

Killing the tin worms is a lot of work. Good start.

Did a bit more today. I think the metal work is done. I used a heavy cooper flashing as a spark arrest and heat sink to tack in some new patch panels.

I am very happy to be done with the metal repair. I am happy with the end result on both sides of the cowl…and I am not easily pleased when it comes to body work. Still need a little grinding, dollying and some thin filler… but the contours look very good. It’s too cold for bodywork here in the northeast. I will continue this in the spring.

Your body work does look very good.  I too am not a great body guru.  My question is, "Are you painting these items in your garage and if so, are you using any cloths or conditions to control dust in the painting process?"  Like maybe hanging painters plastic sheeting and creating a boxed environment.  And if you are doing your own painting, are you using spray cans or a small paint gun with a compressor?

I feel like a chicken pecking at you and what your doing.

But keep up the good work, it does look good and its got me interested in tackling some of my stuff that needs repair.  And I'm in Seekonk MA. Just south of Boston.

New England is hard on vehicles because of the salted roads during the winter months.  I've got a 29 Flatbed Pickup.  My truck goes into hibernation on Nov 1st and awakens on Apr 1st.

Your chassie and linkage in those pics look exactly like mine.  Even that cowl section area your working on.
