Will a '38 vintage 216 six cylinder swap into a '29 1 1/2 ton truck?

@lou Lou, Im sure it has been done. There might be substantial cutting and slashing to get it done. I would start by taking some basic measurements of overall length, mount locations, etc. I don't think your 1929 4-speed trans will bolt to the later clutch housing and I know that your 1929 clutch housing will not bolt to the 216 engine. You can take an engine from a Peterbilt and install it in a VW Beetle, if you set your mind to it.

@35mike Thanks Mike, that is the answer I was looking for. If it isn't a direct one for one swap, I am not interested. I am aware of a reasonably low time engine that if it would fit, would be a good one to have as a backup for my truck. I don't need one now, but the time may come.

thanks again,

Lou
