1941 Chevy AK engine serial numbers

I’m looking for a correct engine for my 1941 Chevy AK. I know the casting number is 839400. I’m finding conflicting information about the engine serial number. Does the engine serial number tell you if the engine was in a car or truck? If so what identifiers or number sequences should I be looking for? Thanks

Dana I just now saw your reply, the engine was out of my 41 master deluxe. I’m in Iowa so shipping would probably cost a lot. I can get numbers off it if you would like.

@dennis-christianson Thanks but I’m looking for one out of a truck. Only difference is the serial number prefixes but if I’m going to go through the process for a correct engine I want the numbers right. Absolute foolishness and I may end up leaving the later model engine in it.
