Repolarizing the generator when using a battery disconnect switch

Been dealing with cleaning up old wiring, getting generators rebuilt and tracking down correct voltage regulators for ‘38 Master Deluxe. Has an Aha moment when thinking about disconnecting my battery using a green knob switch on the negative battery post when the car isn’t being driven. Will the generator need to be repolarized after reconnecting the battery?

Taking the negative battery cable from the post is by far the best option. Most batteries are not that difficult to remove the cable.
