Repolarizing the generator when using a battery disconnect switch

Taking the negative battery cable from the post is by far the best option. Most batteries are not that difficult to remove the cable.

While I was cleaning up the wiring under the dash, I replaced all original wiring (with new cloth covered wiring) and added a fuse panel. Instead of just the 30A fuse to protect the lighting circuits, I added fused circuits for the Headlights/brake and turn signals, Fog lights, Spotlight, Backup light and Electric Wipers. Replaced the battery cables with 1/0 cables. Replaced all wires that come off the battery connect at the starter.

Feel better that I have eliminated all of the crispy wiring.

Also verified that with the ignition switch OFF, 0 current flowing.
