I’m trying to replace my fuel pump on my 54 BelAir 235. I installed the new one that is supposed to be the correct replacement (FS49) and get nothing. It only goes one way so it’s not upside down. I cranked the engine so the lobe is at the top out of the way. I bolt in the new one and nothing. It’s almost like the fuel pump arm is not touching the crankshaft. Ideas?

Most likely a bad pump. Take it off and put it in a vice and hold your finger over the inlet hole and see if you get any suction while the pump the lever

Thanks Dennis, I already returned one and I’m trying a second one. I’ll try your test Monday.
