Hey all looking to either have my 3 speed rebuilt over the winter or swap it out as a core for a rebuild. Does anyone out there have any good contacts?

My 1939 Master 85 has developed a pretty good leak and is becoming increasingly difficult to shift. It was shifting fine before my motor rebuild so I wasn’t that worried about it (I know, should have done it while the motor was out…). But now that I’ve put 500+ miles it wants attention too.

I’ve looked up several articles and watched enough YouTube videos on rebuilds of these to have come to the decision that I am not doing the rebuild. While I think I could do it I just don’t have the tools or time. I have seen some threads on here about rebuild kits and steps, but nothing on who does these rebuilds. Anyone got a lead for me?

Thanks!

Daric

@39master85 Daric, I have a transmission from a running, driving 1937 Chevy. I don't know any more than that about it. It would be the same as your '39 trans. I am in Missouri. Let me know if you are interested. As for your leak, I don't believe there were any seals used at that time.

Where is it leaking? Are you overfilling it?
