Can anyone tell me how many bolts need to be loosened on the p/s and the alternator in order to replace the belt for the alternator? I have found one in the front and one in the rear of the p removed link It does not seem by loosing these two on their own will allow the p/s to pivot enough to remove the belt. One on top so far for the alternator.
On the alternator you’ll need to loosen the bolt that goes through the slotted adjustment bracket and possibly the alternator mounting bolt and nut to allow it to rotate. The power steering pump is similar. The nut showing through the slotted part of the bracket will need to be loosened and most likely the bolt and nut on the bottom of the pump. The attached picture shows a 64 non-air 327 engine.
