On my 54 engine I have a coolant leak at the throttle lever bellcrank on the block. There are two threaded holes in the area just behind the exhaust manifold outlet. Both are 5/16" thread and the rear one is in a raised boss while the forward on is flush to the block . MY bellcrank pivot pin for the throttle is mounted in the forward hole which goes thru the casting and into the water jacket. How is the pin supposed to be sealed?

Well-that's embarrassing. Seems I asked the same question (post#452266) on the old chat site and got the answer but did not follow thru with the pertinent advice.

Is there an easy way to find post ##452266? It has been a long time since I poked around on the old forum...and I had very little experience there before it changed to the new one.
I have a '54 engine and was am wondering what the fix would be should I find that I have a leak there.
I am expecting to change my bellcrank and pivot and mount them in the more aft position as they are conflicting with the intake/exhaust manifolds.
Thanks,
Nick

I've not figured out how to search the old forum by post number. Anyone wanting to reference a post there, and direct people to it, should post a link to the post rather than listing the post number. If someone has a way to search by post number please post it in the Forum And Website Usage forum.

@nicholas-gurin That forward location is a pain . The only way I could remove the pin was to loosen the exhaust pipe retaining flange. I tried using the rear mounting hole but it did not work with my linkage. There is a photo in the post of the forward location with a slotted screw . I don't remember how it was sealed but I would replace that screw with an allen head one if not using it for the bellcrank.

Thanks for your comment/suggestion about trying to find a post # on the old forum. I assumed that I was just being thick-headed, as usual!
