  • I'm attempting to remove the steering box and column in my 31.  I'm unsure how the pitman arm comes off of the threaded splines of the gearbox.  Does it have to be pressed?
  • The rod that goes from the bottom of the pitman arm up to the driver front wheel.  I see instructions explain to "remove the pitman arm from the drag link."  I don't see anything in the manual or online that explains what the drag link actually is.  Also, how do I remove the pitman arm from the rod below it?  I am assuming I unscrew the end of the fitting, remove the internal parts and then it will pop off, but I'm not sure.

Thanks,

Brandon

You are on the right track. The rod is the drag link and you take the cotter pin out and turn the big screw in the end until it loosens enough to come off the pitman arm. I usually have to use a puller the get the arm off the shaft.
