Looking for info on other possible years, makes that may have the same or similar quarter and rear window garnish moldings. Not having any luck finding them. Any help greatly appreciated!
Welcome to Chat. I would start by putting an ad in the Parts Wanted section of the classifieds. The link is at the top of the page. I'm sure you're probably perusing ebay. One thing you may not be doing on ebay is contacting sellers who are selling 31 parts and asking them if they have the parts you're looking for. They may have them but just don't have them listed yet. Good luck with your search.

If your '31 Coupe is early production some didn't have metal garnish moldings for the quarter and rear windows. They used wraparound upholstery for the quarter windows and upholstery covered wooden strip nailed into the opening to hold the rear window glass.

Tiny, Chip,
Thank you for the reply. I put an ad in the parts wanted and have reached out to several on Ebay. The upholstery possibility is interesting, because there are nail holes in the wood which is original. Metal garnish would be better, but even though several GM cars appear to have the same windows, I am beginning to believe it is rare...
Best to you both, thanks again!
@chip Regarding the early production '31 Sport Coupe that wasn't originally equipped with the rear quarter and rear window metal garnish moldings, would it be possible to nail it down (no pun) to a narrower time frame? Mine was reupholstered exactly as you describe, I think most probably as part of a Hampton Coach kit decades ago, no metal trim except the pieces that surround the door windows. My car has April 1931 date codes. It's also missing the interior narrow metal filler strips on the windshield posts, which makes me wonder about the rest.
Tiny, Chip, Andrew,
I have found the six pieces of metal trim for the quarter & rear windows. My quarter windows have curved pieces at the front upper & lower corners, that have to be removed to put the metal Garnish molding in. I suspect these corner pieces were added to allow the bender board & fabric trim to be curved around them. Will do my best to get the blocks out in one piece. Also, will do some research on date of manufacture...
Cheers, V
@vin Thanks Vincent and congratulations on finding the metal trim. Do keep me posted if you learn anything further about the approximate date that the assembly plants began putting on metal garnish around the quarter and rear windows. I assume this would have been Fisher Body. Andrew
