Hello there to all. I have a quick question? Did the 39 chevy master deluxe, come out with two different sizes of hoods, (in length). I have sort of problem where the grille that I am trying to install does not meet with the hood front bolting section. The grille meets fine with the fenders, but not the hood, as it is short about an inch or so. Am I missing something or did the 39 have a long nose as well. Would anyone have a guess at that. The front of the hood is not flush with the front of the grille per say. I know it should be slightly off, but not a whole inch.

Quick answer is...

No,  not according to the 1941 Master Parts book.

I agree with Ole. They should match up with the grille - at least mine do. I did have a problem with the driver's side hood, but that was because it was damaged by the previous owner. Flew out of the back of their pickup truck when they picked it up from the painter! I bought a nice replacement, but never installed it because the hoods are open for judging and it looked fine that way. Nevertheless, it still lined up with the grille.

I have to wonder what the difference was with the station wagon right side hood...

@ralph-l-lankford

I would think the difference had something to do with the spare tire being mounted in the right front fender on the station wagon.
