I am confused about unread topics. Are the unread posts in the bold type?
I like that feature. Click on the "unread post" and a list of unread ones that YOU have not read will come up. Then you click on one to open it. After reading, click on the "back to" arrow in upper left. That should take you back to the list of remaining unread post(s). When you have read all, a msg will appear telling you there are no more unread ones.
Yes, unread ones are in bold type if you want to go thru all looking for new posts instead of using the "unread post" feature.

I am now having intermittent problem with the unread post feature. It will show messages as unread, yet they are old ones that I have already read. Could be ones from anywhere 2 to 4 weeks ago. As I said, it is intermittent. Weird!

As a general rule, yes. In actuality sometimes the thread title won't show bold when there's an unread reply. I've seen no rhyme or reason to it. I've stopped using the Unread Topics button and instead use the Recent Posts button at the top of the page.

Steve, I look at the ' unread posts ' daily and have not had any trouble for several weeks. This new system is kind of weird.

@john-schildberg I went thru all the unread post, signed out and then back in there were unread post. May have something to do with the back button as once the post are all read and the back button is hit more unread post appear and some are four weeks old and read several times. I am sure there is some operator error but I have no idea what it is.

I'm not convinced it's operator error. It started suddenly the other day. I stopped using that button because it's worthless. Last time I tried it I had pages of "unread posts", all of which I've read.

I had something happen while I was reading the unread posts. All of a sodden while I was reading a post it changed and all I saw was a lot of old post that I have already read. I scrolled up and saw that I was no longer signed in. I signed back in and everything went back to normal. I'll never figure out computers! I guess I'm just to dam old.

@john-schildberg I just logged in and there were two actual unread post and two 3 week old post also listed that i know I have read. I read the two actual new post and after reading the second clicked the back button and magically appeared a third three week old unread post. While there are several beneficial new features not having the unread post feature working is very aggravating.

@steve-d I haven't used the unread posts since it was not reliable to give the correct results. I know, earlier I said that I liked that feature but it was working properly then. Just now I thought I would try it again and the result was not good. It showed about 6 posting as "unread". All anywhere from 2 weeks ago to 3 months ago and I had read them all. Too bad it quit working as it was intended to function. (At least for me)

Hay you guys now I'm having the same problem as you. I keep getting the old posts too.

I have found it easier to simply check the elapsed time posted under the topics column . I check a couple times a day for post that are less than 24 hours old. I can quickly search post that are minutes or hours old as there are very few.
