Also find I need to log in to VIEW the forum. If a non-member needs to register to VIEW I believe that reduces the incentive for them to register . It's my opinion that the content of the post are what attracts the viewers to want to participate. Does the new software have the ability for viewing without registering or logging in? While I agree posting should be limited to registered or logged in members , I do think that should not be required for viewing.

@steve-d @p-gariepy Valid point Steve. I just tested in another window while not logged in and indeed it didn't allow me to view content. I believe this is an oversight rather than intentional and will be corrected soon.

Looks like it's a done deal. Another step forward in fine tuning the site.

I think all should have to register onto here to read or post and VCCA members get more extras considering they are the users that are paying for the service, why should we give our information away.

Allowing folks who are not registered to view all the non-member-only content is the way to attract people to the site and possibly to the club.

This site behavior mirrors what was permitted on the old VCCA Chat site and I agree with this policy.

In order to make a post or a reply, everyone must register with the site and be logged on.

@ed-osier I'm sorry you feel that way Ed. If there's anything I can do to help you learn the ins & outs please let me know. Personally, after having used it for a while, I like the capabilities the new software brings more than I dislike it.

@tiny Thanks for the offer Tiny but I just don't like it. I'll continue to check it out occasionally and see if I can learn to like it but ??

@ed-osier It grows on you as you learn it's capabilities. Yes, it's different than the old software so some learning is required. As you use it more it becomes easier and actually is relatively user friendly in the end. Hope to see you back soon Ed.

@tiny

I'm with you Tiny.

I don't think there was anything I was doing on the old site that I haven't figured out how to do on the new one.

There is one thing I haven't found, and miss.

Weren't we able to customize the appearance of the screen on the old site?

Seems to me we had a couple of choices with different colors, fonts etc.

Am I remembering wrong?

@ole-olson You're not wrong. We could choose different "skins".

While I am not considering dropping off I am not keen on the new site either, I consider it a backward step.

I can't see the benefit of the new classifieds being in a different location than the forum.
