I have the original distributor vacuum advance #1116009 in my 1938 Chevy I am in need of the vacuum advance module that has two small bolts that removes the vacuum module. The Filling Station and Chevs of the 40's has someone that rebuilds them. Is there a retro fit that I can use? At this point I really don't want to mail mine in.

By 1954 Chevrolet was substituting part number 1872825, which looked much the same but required an adapter fitting (part number 1865961) to adapt to the 1/8" vacuum line.

You may be able to remove the hexagon fitting from the end of the unit and put the fitting from your old vacuum advance in it's place (as I have done on my 1946 216.
This will of course only work if the inner ends of the fittings are configured the same way so they compress the inner spring the same amount.
Otherwise, you should still be able to find the fitting required to adapt this unit to your vacuum line.
