Since my ankle surgery I've not driven the 38 much. Not being able to move the ankle makes it difficult, and at times painful, to operate the clutch. Well, today I got bored of load testing my recliner because it's too hot to get out and do anything so I decided to man-up and get the 38 out. It was full sun and 90F when I left the house. All went well. I got some in-town and country driving done. I got a lot of "nice car" and thumbs-up which naturally makes the hat fit a little bit tighter. While the temp gauge hit 200 a couple of times, the old critter did well and never missed a beat. 93F when I got home and the pits were a tad damp but all in all a fun time was had by the fat kid. I don't know if I'm just finally getting the hang of it or if the healing of the ankle is improving but it was noticeably easier to operate the clutch and I only got a minor twinge of pain once. If this keeps up it'll take my main excuse for sitting on my backside away from me. 😀

Tiny,
Glad you are up and about. The car looks great. They are great to drive on short trips!

Hi Tiny
I've noticed that driving my '46 is downright therapeutic. 🙂
It even melts away stress and anxiety.
Apparently a '38 does the same.
Glad to hear your ankle is better. 👍
