Ok, so the 54 Belair has its newly rebuilt power brake booster installed and it has stopping power. However, on it’s first around the block shake-down cruise, I heard an awful noise coming from the rear and immediately stopped to find one of the hub caps had fallen off. If that was all that happened, I’d be pretty happy. Unfotunately, when I checked the temperature, I saw that it was overheating badly. So I was just about home again and drove to my driveway. I spotted coolant flowing like a river from the bottom of the radiator. I figured it was a hole somewhere around the bottom of the radiator. So today when I took it off and was suprised to find that the lower radiator hose outlet was dented and not round as it should be. I was able to bend it back into perfect shape and now I’m fairly sure there is no further leak. the only thought is that while it’s out, I should have it pressure tested. So that’s a job for tomorrow, maybe.
