Not my car but car related. We at breakfast late and I thought we should go on a family daycation. First thought was Niagara falls. Then I looked out the window and remembered it was snowing and 25 degrees. Asked if everyone wanted to go to the Pierce Arrow museum of transportation in Buffalo for a day trip. I had taken the kids there when they were much younger. It was a nice trip. I recommend it if you are looking for a trip that takes an afternoon. The displays change periodically. My wife really liked the life size Frank Lloyd Write gas station. It was built based on plans he had designed but never built. Parked in the station are several Pierce Arrow cars. Also there is an excellent display for the first NY - Paris automotive race in 1913.
At the gift shop they have a large selection of old book, magazines and manuals of all types. I found an original 1940 - 1942 manual for passenger car drive train specifications and the Carter carburetor supplement. My wire found a 1930 Jack Frost 18 unusual recipes cook book, she loves to bake.
Got home and she made cookies from the book. No mention of temperatures or how long to cook anything. Only slow, medium or hot oven. Guess that goes back to pre electric ovens. Cookies tasted good. Different than the types I have had in the past.
