Was able to get the stone guard installed as well as the Viking hood ornament. Had to have a new base made for the ornament.

Hello Michael McDonald,

My 1931 Coach has a plain radiator cap and also a new stone guard still in it's box. I like the looks of a motometer rad cap. Could you explain what you had to do to combine mascot to cap and also how you installed your stone guard? Did you need to drill mount holes or other? Nice to know in advance for what may be required mounting these things. Thanks. Harry

@michael-mcdonald @harry-truppner I'm moving this thread to the 'What did you do with your vehicle today' forum since the original post isn't a technical issue.

@harry-truppner The radiator ornament on the 1930 Chevy is different than the 1931 Chev it threads on.

The stone guard is shorter on the 1930 as well.

You have to remove the radiator from the car than remove the rad.shell to install the guard. The main support is with the radiator emblem that goes through the hole in the radiator shell and the grill. I wired the grill to the sides with silver wire for support.

Hello Michael McDonald,

Thanks for the installation description. What are the color codes on the outside of your 1930? My 1931 was originally Serge Blue but sometime in the past before I got it, it was painted an Evergreen green color. I hope to return to Serge Blue some day. The fenders have remained black. Harry
