What are these holes in my transmission for?

1941 Chevy Master Deluxe 3 speed transmission.

We have or transmission back in and while filling it we noticed three holes that we did not remember taking anything off of.  The one below the speedometer gear goes through the case.  It is threaded.  The other two are also threaded but do not appear to go through the case.  What are these for?  Is the one supposed to have a plug in it or is it to work like a vent hole?  The way the transmission is machined to be flat it looks like something should be there.

The three holes are used to retain the vacuum shift canister bracket.  Put a short bolt with some sealant in the one that goes through the case.  Mike

Thanks for the update on what those are for.  Until now we did not know we had a hole in the transmission. We will need t find a bolt to patch it.
