In my 1958 parts and accessories catalog, I see where there is some kind of difference between the 3836386 passenger and the 3752735 taxi camshafts. There are also differences between the lifters; 3231450 for the passenger verses 5231850 for the taxi. I am curious to learn what that difference may be may be, and if the parts are interchangeable.

Your thoughts please?

Bob,

I don't know what the difference is but you can bet the parts are interchangeable. This is another time when Chev Nut is sorely missed.

@35mike Surely it has something to do with "endurance" cam material? Hardened?

I could understand the camshaft being designed to get maximum economy, performance, durability, etc. for a specific type of use. I can understand why the lifters would need to be different.
