I recently purchased a 1954 Two-Ten. Yes it has 1953 wheel covers - the original owner asked the dealer to install those as he liked them better than the 1954 covers. It is a really low mileage car (17,500) but has a rear main seal leak that I am addressing. The car already had a decent repaint but someone did a rather poor job to clean things up under the hood. Since I need to pull the engine to do job correctly, I figured I may as well clean up the engine compartment which means giving the engine some new paint. You can see what someone did with a rattle can and I'm told that blue isn't right (should have a bit more green tone). Bill Hirsch has an engine paint, as does Chevy of the 40s and The Filling Station Store and they all list an engine paint from 1954 - 1962. I'm not sure if these are correct so I'm looking for some guidance. Maybe someone has a color mix?
Also interested in what the transmission and bell housing color should be.
Here are a few photos of the car. Interior is immaculate original and the rear seat even has the original bubble plastic cover on it still.
And the engine
Any help is appreciated. Thanks
Scott
Welcome Scott. Nice car! I know The Filling Station's dark gray is considered by the VCCA to be the correct gray but I'm not sure about the blue. Someone will be along soon who will know and can answer your question.
