can anyone help me for the hole location for the cowl lights on a 31 sedan?
What exactly do you need? Measurements? Pics?
Chip on this forum is the tech advisor for 1931 and his contact info is in the G&D or he may see this. My books are packed up but I seem to remember something in the 1931 Chevrolet Service News about how the dealers should mount these lights if the customer wanted to add them.

The photos are of a 1931 Chevrolet cowl light holes on a closed car cowl. I expect that there might be a little variation in the location if the holes were for factory installed cowl lights versus Chevrolet dealer installed lights. Tiny I had taken the photos a couple of days ago but forgot to check back on the posting to see if they were still needed.

@chip I know how busy you are Chip. I just wanted to draw your attention to the thread in case you'd not seen it yet. Those pictures should be just what the OP needs. Thank you.

I am working on the cowl lights for my 31 sports coupe now (poor ground). I did not want to chime in because I was not sure if there is a specific location for these lights. Mine are located right on the radius of cowl. When I first repaired the non working lights I replace the cracked base with the recommended F/S "flat base". Needless to say, it did not fit the radius of the cowl and was probably the cause for the cracked original. A little fine tin knocking got the new base to fit the contour of the cowl. Doing some searching of why the base did not fit correctly, I looked at available photos on the web and found out that mine were not located as others were??? The only thing I could figure out was that these were probably added at the dealer. Don't think I will move them (I'll let the next owner take care of that).
