Painting the car a non original color with the fenders black and the body maroon . The original over all color was black with the dash black. My question is what is the correct way to paint dash, black or maroon.? The inserts are woodgrain along with all the garnish moldings. I know this probably more opinion than the way Chevy did it but trying to find out. The car is a 1935 Master Deluxe 4 door

@mbrown It is likely that the dash was black regardless of exterior color. I would not want to bring the maroon color to the interior of the car, but hey, it's your car.

I have a 1935 Standard Coupe. Like your car, the original color was black as was the dash. I repainted the car to another 1935 color but I left the original paint on the dash.

Your 1935 Master came from the factory with a Black Dash and Walnut Transfer on the gauge cluster, glove box door, rear view mirror and garnish moldings.
