I am trying to help a friend source a replacement rear end for his Chevy 3100 Pickup, can anyone help me out with a source or reseller or point me in the right direction? My search online has yielded very little information. Thank you

Welcome to the VCCA's website!

Where are you located?

In the San Francisco area, Brian's Salvage in American Canyon has stuff like that. In the central valley, Turner's Auto Wreckers in Fresno is a good place to check.

Dean,

Thanks for the quick response! I am in Florida, SWFL area specifically but I will check those resources as well. I know he said was looking for something in the state that he would be able to go and pick up as I imagine shipping something like that isn't cheap.

@servified Find a car club in your area and get acquainted with them. Networking is your best bet in this situation. The first step is to find out EXACTLY what other vehicles will yield the part you need. I will be glad to help with that. I have lots of Chevy parts books as well as Hollander Interchange books. 1940-1953 is not a likely range for a truck rear end to be the same.

Tell me the year of your friend's truck and I will give you some helpful information.

Mike
