Where should the VIN Plate be installed on the cowl of the 1929 Chevrolet 1-1/2 Ton Truck?  I have read some where that it does not go on the passenger side seat framing facing the door, but on the passenger side cowl because it is a Truck.  Since there is no space on the top of the cowl, adjacent to the ribbon lace, then it would go some where on what I commonly refer to as the "firewall" surface area.  A good explanation to its proper location would be helpful.  Thanks!

P.S.  Is it riveted or screwed in place??

I am not 100% sure of the location for 1929 trucks. I do know that 1931 trucks have both a load plate under the serial number plate centered in four screw holds about midway up and several inches from the passenger outside edge of the engine side of the firewall. I don't have one of my trucks here at the house to take a photo. Maybe someone else might be able to post one or I can take a photo of the '31 Fire Truck next time I get to the storage building.
