My oil pump uses the spring loaded screen on the end of the pickup tube. The inner, fine screen is partially crushed and the coarse outer screen is mostly missing. Does anybody have a source for a new screen?
Don't know of any old stock or reproductions. Might get lucky and find a good used one. A local hardware store should have the "hardware cloth" or "screen wire" (depends on location in USA what it is called). The trick is to slowly bend it around a hard ball of the correct diameter and then re-crimp into place. Might be able to solder it if crimping doesn't work.
