Does anyone know if the cast iron portion of a W-1 carburetor is supposed to be painted black?

Good evening,

I've applied for the 1939 Passenger Car Tech Advisor position. It's been vacant much too long since Ted Holz stepped down. I've owned two 39 Master Deluxe Town Sedans over the last 50 years. I've been somewhat inactive since moving to FL from VA four years ago where I was a Regional Director. I'm now getting back into the swing of things.

Here's a photo of mine, which I've been told is correct I can also take a photo without the air cleaner if you want. Just let me know if this helps.

@ralph-l-lankford Thanks for the quick reply and the photo. No more photos necessary but thanks for the offer.

It is not a gloss black but more of between semi-gloss and flat black. I generally use flat black as a reasonable compromise.
