Thanks in advance. Trying to remount the splash guard that sits above the running board and below the bed between the back of the cab and the rear fender.
I know the bottom of the guard bolts to the top of the running board. Does the top of the guard (the flat section with two holes in it) sit on top of the frame rail, bolt to the bottom of the bed, or ????? I took a ton of photos and somehow missed this piece.
it’s a bit of a frankenteuck and things are not realigning on reassembly. Thanks.
William,
I will be watching the replies on this question, as I am also working with a Frankentruck and have a similar challenge with this part.
My truck has a '40 cab on a '41-'46 frame with a '37-'39 bed on it...so things have to be manipulated.

If your ‘38 is the same as either my ‘37 or ‘46 maybe this will help. My recollection is the two (?) about 1/2” diameter holes at the top of the apron “nest” under two bolts that fasten the bed boards to the bed angle strips. The sheet metal apron is not bolted to the frame. Otherwise it most likely would eventually get torn as the bed flexes. Unfortunately, I didn’t take photos during the assembly process for this stage.
@lee Thanks. That makes sense. The top “flange” wasn’t reaching the frame rail.
@lee ps I have a 46 as well. 3/4 ton. It’s a sickness I’m afraid
@nicholas-gurin ‘38 with ‘47 bed and custom built frame. 😩
