Where does this go on my 1926 Chevrolet?

While I am not familar with the 26 model I suspect it goes on the floor around where the pedals and steering column go through but I have been wrong before.

Yup, that's the plate that goes under and around the pedals. My '27 one ton truck (Lurch) has the same plate.

BTW, if the bushings in the brake pedal and/or the clutch pedal are worn so that the pedals have excess side movement, those pedals will scrape on the sides of the slots in this plate. The same thing will happen if the bushings are in good shape, but the shaft that they mount to is worn.

Your choices are to replace the bushings (or shaft) or grind some material off the plate so that the scraping stops.

Yes I believe you guys are correct. I was trying to figure out where on the engine it went. I thought maybe a heat shield of some type.  Thanks Everyone
