Not sure where to post this but thought it might help someone else. Found under the car some of my sockets and wrenches are hard to read. Bought some oil based paint pens and painted in the lettering. Just scribbled over wherever the lettering was engraved. When it had started to dry took a paper towel with rubbing alcohol on it an rubbed the excess off. So far it has worked on some impact sockets and a set of wrenches. Using white for all the impact sockets and whatever matches the brand for the rest.

Great tip. As the belly is getting larger and the hairline is receding (if not there at all), and the vision is not what it used to be I will be going to the store to buy some paint today.
I have run into an issue with this. I still use the set of Craftsman sockets I received when I was 10 for my shallow and deep set. Issue is the engravings are so narrow and shallow this is not working. Other than that all of the others I have tried seem to work.
Works great on the wrenches and especially well on my 1/2 inch stuff that has slightly wider and deeper engravings.
