This has been discussed several times in the past. Fastenal was mentioned as a less expensive option however I got a quote from them that is higher than Fedex. 150 VS 201. Trying to ship a steering gearbox and column from NH to Va. If anyone has a suggestion let me know. My next step is to package it and then go to UPS for a quote. Seems whenever I try online for a quote it ends up more at the UPS counter.

I shipped a large, not heavy, item via Greyhound years ago. Don't know if that's still an option.

Be very careful using bus services. Read and re-read the contract fine print to verify the extra cost insurance benefit includes auto parts. I know from a miserable experience, auto parts and a very long list of other items resulting in damage/loss claims leads to finger pointing and disappointment. At the time they were by far the cheaper option, but the mess created was far more expensive!
