Hello everyone, I just joined & wanted to introduce myself & my "new" car!

I purchased a 1942 Chevrolet Master Deluxe. A Town sedan. Black in color. I am the third owner & originally it was from a family in New Mexico from 1942 to 2014. Then to Ohio from 2014 to 2024 with me taking ownership last week. I'm also in Ohio.

This car is a 3 speed on the tree, 63k miles, original paint, original interior, original engine, transmission, rear end. Basically a original survivor car.

I have the details from the original owner, living in a small town & only drove small amounts & then once to Ohio only driven about 1000 miles from 2014 to 2024.

I plan to drive this car on a good basis, although not in winter. Just spring to fall along with my other Chevy's. I am a big fan of keeping classics on the road & driving them daily. Long as proper maintenance is done, I do not see why they can't be just as good as today's plastic boxes.

I will add some pictures & I'm very excited to have joined & own such a wonderful car with such history & a harder to find year.

Thank you

Kyle

Looks like a good purchase in good condition. I like your desire to keep it original and drive it.

Nice car! Welcome to the VCCA! I would recommend your first purchase be a shop manual. Reprints are available from most of the vendors.

Thank you for the warm welcomes! Yes I'm quite happy with the purchase. Prior to buying I already bought a shop manual & all the other goodies to help me. Yes the radio does work. The history on this car is amazing to me. It even came with the original owners spectacles, although missing an arm haha. I will take more photos & share more in the coming days.

I will keep it all original & do my best to keep nos parts on it rather than repop although some things I'm sure will be replaced.

Thank you again

Kyle

I have a 1941 Master Deluxe but was apparently cloned to a Special Deluxe some time in it’s past. I really love this car and enjoy driving it to the max. I’m not done with her yet. I recently acquired a 54 Belair and have been working on it for a while…she’s a beaut but not quite ready for the road.

Welcome to the forum and post often…I love hearing what’s happening with other’s cars.
