I know that this subject has been covered before but I can't find it.  I would like to change my picture to one with my car completed.  How can I do it.

In the gray bar below the Filling Station ad click Profile then Account. You change it there. It may be moot since we're going to transfer to new forum software sometime in the near future.

@tiny Thanks Tiny, I tried to change it the way you said but it didn't seem to help.  I will see after this post if it worked.

There may be a size restriction. If it's a large image you may need to size it down. Do you get any kind of a message when you try to upload it?

No, but that sounds logical.  I'll try that

@john-schildberg  @tiny

There IS s size limit,

but not physical size.

There is a limit on the "byte" size.

If I remember right, I had to copy the picture I wanted to use, then export it as a jpeg to the desktop on my laptop, and in the process it allowed me to choose the resolution of the jpeg.

Once the resolution was low enough, the software would accept the picture.

But I could be wrong.  🙂

@john-schildberg @ole-olson I've slept a few times since I set mine so I had to do some 'remembering'. Thanks Ole. If I remember right the size limit is 150x150 pixels. Looking at my saved Avatar, the file is 150x107 pixels. I've read that Windows Paint will resize images but I've never used it for that. I use Irfanfiew to resize, it lets you resize by pixel dimension rather than just "byte" size. Once you open the image in IView you select Image/Resize-Resample then click on the "Pixel" button and enter the size you want, in this case 150 in the "width" box. You don't need to fill in the "Height" box, it'll fill in automatically when you click OK. Then click OK. Save the image in a place you can find it on your computer and upload it as your Avatar. You'll need to resize your image before the software will accept it.

Again, thank you Tiny   I finally got it done.  Your suggestion of using Irfanfiew to resize the picture to 150 Pixel was exactly what I needed to do.

@john-schildberg It's showing the new Avatar. It's possible your computer defaulted to the old image. Try restarting your computer.
